About David Herring

David Herring manages the Communication, Education and Engagement Division within NOAA’s Climate Program Office, where he also serves as Program Manager of NOAA Climate.gov and the U.S. Climate Resilience Toolkit. In 2015, David was awarded NOAA’s Dr. Daniel L. Albritton Outstanding Science Communicator Award. Before joining NOAA in 2008, David worked for 16 years at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, where he led the development of NASA’s Earth Observatory. David received his Master’s Degree in Science and Technical Communication in 1992 from East Carolina University. He is an elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
